The warmth of orange and linen approach and the blue sky are a play on figure and ground. By chance, I completed this painting on April 8, 2024 . The day of the solar eclipse.

Red Variations

The color red can be highly saturated and dark in value. In this composition I used my cadmium red mixed with blues and yellows to create this array of hues. The linen sets off the full saturation of these colors with a medium and neutral tone.
